Editorial Alpina, especializada en mapas de senderismo, ha querido contribuir con esta edición especial a la divulgación de la magnitud de la catástrofe. Su solidaridad y la de sus usuarios permitirá destinar 1 € por cada mapa vendido a ayudar a los afectados por la erupción. Teniendo en cuenta la urgencia de la situación, el donativo de 1.500 € se ha hecho efectivo antes de la publicación de los mapas en febrero de 2022 |
The leading maps publishing house of Editorial Alpina would like to show, with this special edition, the magnitude of the devastation. The company and its customers will also donate € 1 from the sale of each map to support the people affected by the eruption. As most help was urgently needed, the donation of € 1.500 was given before these maps were even published on february 2022 |
Der Wanderkartenverlag Editorial Alpina möchte mit dieser Sonderauflage das Ausmaß der Katastrophe bekanntgeben. Die Firma und seine Kunden werden € 1 pro Karte für die vom Ausbruch betroffene Menschen spenden. Da diese Hilfe dringend notwendig war, wurde die Spende von € 1.500 vor der Veröffentlichung der neuen Auflage in Februar 2022 weitergegeben. |

(19. SEPTIEMBRE- 13. DICIEMBRE 2021) El fenómeno volcánico duró 85 días y fue la erupción más larga de las registradas en la isla. Las coladas destruyeron 2.988 edificaciones incluyendo el pueblo de Todoque y la mayor parte de las 7.000 personas evacuadas perdieron sus hogares. Espesores de hasta 60 metros de altura cubrieron 1.219 hectáreas y sepultaron numerosas carreteras y plantaciones plataneras. Dos coladas llegaron hasta el mar y crearon dos nuevas penínsulas, conocidas como fajanas o deltas lávicos, de unas 50 ha. de extensión y unos 500 m de anchura. En enero de 2022 se están barajando diferentes topónimos para el Volcán de Cumbre Vieja (1.122 m). El más probable es Tajogaite que significa “Montaña Rajada” y es el nombre del lugar donde se inició el proceso eruptivo en la lengua de los aborígenes de la isla, los benahoaritas. El mejor mirador para observar el nuevo volcán y sus consecuencias es el Mirador del Time en la carretera LP-1 entre Llanos de Aridane y Tijarafe.

(19. SEPTEMBER- 13. DECEMBER 2021) The volcano activity lasted 85 days and it was the longest known eruption on the island. Most of the 7.000 people that had been evacuated have lost their homes. The lava flow covered 1.219 hectares with a thickness of up to 60 meter, destroyed 2.988 buildings and banana plantations and completely devastated the village of Todoque. It also cut the coastal highway and other roads and formed two new coastal headlands 500 m wide and with a surface of 50 hectares. The most likely name for the new volcano (1.122 m) is Tajogaite, which means “Montaña Rajada” (cracked mountain) in the aboriginal language, and is the name of the place where the eruption started. The best viewpoint to see the new volcano and its consequences is Mirador del Time on the LP-1 road between Llanos de Aridane and Tijarafe. |

Die Mehrheit der 7.000 Evakuierten haben ihre Wohnungen verloren. Bis zu 60 Meter dicke Lavamassen haben 1.219 ha. begraben und 2.988 Wohnungen zerstört, darunter das ganze Dorf Todoque. Die Lava hat auch Straßen und Bananenplantagen verschüttet. Große Lavamengen haben die Küste erreicht und zwei Mündungsdeltas von 50 ha. und bis 500 m Breite ins Meer hinausgeschoben. Der wahrscheinlichste Name für den neuen Vulkan (1.122 m) ist Tajogaite. Das altkanarische Begriff bedeutet “Montaña Rajada” (Berg mit Rissen), der Platz wo der Ausbruch begann. Der beste Aussichtspunkt um den Vulkan und seine Folgen zu beobachten, ist derMirador del Time an der LP-1 Straße zwischen Llanos de Aridane und Tijarafe.

Plus de 7.000 personnes ont été évacuées, la plupart d’entre elles ont perdu ses logements. Couches de lave de jusqu’à 60 mètres d’épaisseur ont recouvert 1.219 hectares, 2.988 bâtiments ont été détruits et toute le village de Todoque a été englouti. Les coulées qui ont atteint la mer se sont solidifiées et ont donné naissance à deux péninsules de 50 hectares de superficie et 500 m de largeur. Le toponyme le plus probable pour le nouveau volcan (1.122 m) est Tajogaite. Il s’agit de l’endroit “Montaña Rajada” (Montagne avec fissures) où l’éruption débuta, en langue aborigène des anciens habitants de l’île. Le meilleur belvédère pour observer le volcan et ses conséquences est le Mirador del Time sur la route LP-1 entre Llanos de Aridane et Tijarafe. |
